Moritz Stahl Quintet - Traumsequenz (Album Info)
The album was recorded with four other musicians from all over the republic: Pianist Julius Windisch from Berlin, drummer Leif Berger from Cologne, base Lorenz Heigenhuber from Leipzig and guitarist Philipp Schiepek, who was drawn to the Middle Franconian countryside. The band got together in 2022 over a one-week residency at Jazzclub Unterfahrt. Especially for this line-up and protagonists I wrote music in which the whole ensemble with its broad sound spectrum is featured, so that the actual composition and its performance is the focus. The program was completely rehearsed in the studio and worked out together. Each version is a snapshot from this intensive process.
